The Spinal Hair Clip - Medium (SHC-M) is a functional hair clip sculpted into a low-poly human spine. The 'Bone' variant is made with engineering-grade Nylon PA12 and stainless steel hardware. Each hair clip develops its own unique off-white patina as it ages. This hair clip size is suited for those with at least medium length thicker hair or long length thinner hair.

You've likely never encountered an object manufactured in this way. The spinal pieces are 3D printed using industry-leading Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) systems from EOS GmbH, in which a laser selectively fuses fine Nylon powder layer by layer to produce complex geometries without needing support structures. After printing, unfused powder is recycled for future prints while the spinal pieces are sandblasted and sprayed with a UV protective coating for a fine matte finish. The result is an incredibly durable, detailed, and lightweight hair clip with an unparalleled feel.

The first hair clip with quad springs. I designed this unique mechanism to preserve the anatomical features of the spine whilst allowing the hair clip to be functional. The clip operates intuitively via finger grooves sculpted into the 3rd and 4th vertebrae, retaining the ergonomics of a standard hair clip despite its complex geometry.
